10 Years at War.

Greetings my friends,

On September 29th, 2003 I created WaR. It's been 10 long years since then. We have seen many come and go, others return after long absences, and have met new friends along the way. I'm sure for many of us, WaR was, or still is, a big part of life and who we are. I'm certain that even many of those who don't come around as often these days, still consider themselves a WaR member at heart and always will. I just want to say, thank you all for making it a great, fun, and hilarious 10 years! You really are all like family to me. I hope WaR has given you the entertaining times, friendships, and sense of belonging it did for me.

Here's to another 10 years!

Now I have some plans and changes.

Forum:

As many of you know, War forums have been a ghost town as of late. We are around still. I talk to many of you weekly. The thing is we do most of our communicating with each other either through steam chat or Teamspeak these days. We also find most of our funny pics and videos through Facebook or Reddit. Things we use to use the forum for a lot, are being replaced. We also grew up, people have less time, I understand that.

I think the forums still have a place in WaR, we still need a website, a home base, but I don't think it needs to be as big of a focus. I also think, that a forum isn't enough, there needs to be more reasons to come here than to just read the forum. After looking at some of the platforms available, I have decided to retire these forums that have been running since 2006 and switch us over to ENJIN. These forums will be archived somewhere, so we can always look back if we want, but posting will be disabled.

We will move to a new website and forum system over at http://warclangaming.enjin.com
Please make an account there and join our website. When I have time, I will be transferring our domain there too, so TheWarClan.com is used instead of that longer link.

The ENJIN system gives us many new features including:
-Full Website
-Forum
-Live Chat
-Profile page, wall, friends list
-Teamspeak Status
-Gallery
-Mobile phone support
& more!

Using this system also takes a lot of effort off my hands, I don't have to worry about programming, or servers, or themes, all that can be easily switched with their interface.

Rankings:

While our old system created a strong sense of community, it doesn't work for us anymore. So I have decided to change up the system. We will now have 3 ranks, Leader (me), High Council, and Legionnaire. All 3 will be considered full War members. Any WaR member who is currently active, or has been a big part of WaR in the past will be a "High Council" member. Any new additions to High Council will have to pass similar to requirements as you do for joining our clan currently, posting on the forum and getting voted in. Legionnaire will be a more relaxed membership to our clan. All you have to do is apply and myself, or another trusted member will approve or deny membership. This way we will be able to recruit anyone who seems cool very easily, and they will be full members with us, but we will still be able to keep that strong core of war intact through the high council.

In Conclusion:

  1. I love you guys, u r my bruh.
  2. New forum/website, sign up and join it at http://warclangaming.enjin.com
  3. TheWarClan.com will point to new website in a few days, old forum will be archived somewhere.
  4. War members are now "High Council" and recruiting requirements are now relaxed.

Sincerely,
Supreme Leader Satros

In ways its good to progress forward, In other ways it is not. We'll all look back on the years with fond memories and the nostalgia will always be with us just as we'll always miss those old forums. But at the same time this marks a new decade for WaR clan and a chance to start truly becoming active. In honor of those old days we'll keep moving forward and continue to make WaR the great place we know it is. Here's to another happy 10 years!

The crazy thing is you were actually the first person I met Static, I've actually known you like 11 years, you were also the first person to join WaR that is still around today (That weird ShadowGod guy was technically the first, you were second though, and he was gone after a few months). It's been a long time.

I Win! Do I get a prize? :p Weird to think I've known you that long.. 9 years old.. .-. I was SO LITTLE!!
I vaguely remember ShadowGod.. hmmI think all that stands out is that he was annoying..

Dayyum man. You guys are some of the best bros i've met ever. I remember being like, 15 or so when i met you guys on Rune HoV, playing that TR Racing mod and shit. Fun times. Had a friggin blast with Minecraft too, and Day Z was pretty fun despite the fact we spent like 9000 hours trying to find each other.

So what's RO2? Red Orchestra 2 or Ragnarok Online 2?

EDIT: Oh yeah and Killing Floor man. God damn hilarious trying not to get wizzled and welding people out of the hidey hole.

Mountain Blade caveman tactics too. Good times.

Oh man you just made me remember so many good times :)

Also RO2 is Ragnarok Online 2, its a kiwi waifu game me, Zaifos and Kittie play lately

Really? Maybe i'll just kawaii the fuck it up with your guys

Nice, we could use a class that could heal (like a sorcerer), but if you don't want to play that thats fine too, just don't pick assassin cause there are like 100000 of them already. If we get someone who can heal (there are a few classes that can), then we can 4 man bosses and stuff together, right now we have to rely on getting randoms.

Alright, installing RO2 rite now, i'll look into healer type classes.

EDIT: Alright, so my best bet for the most effective Healing would be a Sorcerer, but the Knight also has some minor healing abilities i think.
NOT SURE WHAT TO ROLL, I kinda like slayan things with HUEG SWORDS like a Warrior would, and Rogue seems like it mite b cool. Think i'll just main Sorcerer for awhile I guess, then make another kiwi character as something else.

WIIZZLER!! I wanna dl RO2.. but I feel like my school work will suffer somewhat.. lolz..
I'll prolly do it anyways..

Do it! Though we stopped playing as much, not as much to do when you hit level 50 in game, well we would play, the problem is just once you reach level 50 you need like 10 people to do all the cool stuff, we are in a guild which helps, but obviously its hard to get 10 people together all the time.

k. Give me link to download.. i'll do it when I get home from class :B

If your wanting to run something different I can always jump on. I always main a support classes anyways wouldn't be any change.

On Steam -> Search Ragnarok Online 2 ;)

If more of us start playing (especially classes with heals) we could def be running raids and dungeons without having to rely on outside people as much, that would be cool and I would probably play more if it becomes the case :p

Also if either of you start playing let us know, we can help you power through quests and dungeons and what not.

On second thought I think we are going to try out Wizardy Online (Also on Steam), there is a chance of permadeath and pvp murdering and item looting like the good ole runescape days. My problem with RO2 is late game there is nothing to do but get better and better items, but for what purpose? With Wizardry at least, we can start a gang and rob people, seems like it would be more fun to play as a group.

GUN B GUD

I looked for RO2 on Steam, kept getting one i had to pay $50 for. so. Meh. Lol i'm DLing WO right meow.

Yeah, don't bother with getting RO2, it's fun.. but once you finish the quests, as Sat said, there's nothing to do but go through the same dungeons over and over again, for a chance at getting a better item that you already have. (And even if one drops, you don't necessarily get the item, since someone else might get it instead).

Sounds pretty gae. Glad i didn't grind through to 50 just to be bored.
Wizardry is good fun though. The dungeons have traps and nasty fuggin' critters plus asshole players who wanna loot dat booty of yours. Lots of potential to grief too, and generally you're lucky if you get to level 20.
